My keychain does not work on my renault scenic after changing batteries?

I just changed the batteries on my keychain for my 1998 Renault Megane Scenic and now will not open the car, or more importantly off the immobilizer! Help!

Just a specified time to do so, there may be some of their advice on a Renault forum, but I found it. Key more immobliser car off (1998 RT) As an alternative to buying a new key, Jamie Ford: I found a solution, can be used all the time but do take a few moments to improve. What owners should do is find the 4 digit code for the immobilization dealership. They complain and say this number does not exist but it does. According to the dealer there may be fees for this number (not more than 30 pounds). When you number, you turn the Ignition. The red light on the dashboard is flashing rapidly, press the lock button on the dashboard and the light should slow. You must count the number of puffs correspond with the first digit, then release the button pressed again for the second number and so on. When all the numbers have been registered in this way, the button must be released and the light stays lit for about 10 seconds - when the light turns off, the immobilizer is off and you can start the car .... It seems a little long winded, but when you get the hang of it, it takes about 30 seconds to complete and save the owner of about 150 quid on a new key ....
